Bio

A professional chef with CCC (Certifed Chef de Cuisine) designation, Marty Carpenter began his career in foodservice with a professional cooking course at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, followed by a European-style apprenticeship. In 1992 he became Field Operations Manager for a restaurant chain, opening over 60 locations in five years. He moved from restaurant operations to beef when he accepted a position with the Alberta Cattle Commission, focusing on marketing beef to the foodservice trade. Moving over to lead the Beef Information Centre Foodservice team, Marty was pleased to see BIC named Supplier of the Year by Canada's largest food and hospitality magazine. With BIC's expanded role in the U.S. market, Marty has taken on the position of Director, U.S. Market Development.
