Marinated London Broil

Ingredients

9 lb 4 kg inside round steak
1.5 c 375 mL dry red wine
1/4 c 50 mL sesame seed oil
4 4 medium garlic cloves, crushed
1/2 tsp 2 mL ginger, ground
1 tsp 5 mL thyme, dried
    freshly ground pepper, to taste

Instructions

Rub both sides of steak with ground pepper. Place in a plastic food bag with all the other ingredients. Close bag, coat beef on all sides with the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for 3-8 hours. Turn occasionally. Drain marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Broil or grill steak until medium rare 145°F (63°C). Brush with marinade while cooking. To serve, cut the meat across the grain in paper thin diagonal slices.
