Braised Italian Style Short Ribs
Ingredients

Beef Short Ribs

seasoned flour

oil, divided

cloves garlic, minced

tomato paste

beef stock

mushrooms, halved

large green peppers, cut in strips

large sweet red peppers, cut in strips
salt, as desired
pepper, as desired
Instructions
Cut ribs into individual portions; dust with seasoned flour.
In a large skillet heat 1/3 c (75 mL) oil and brown ribs; remove ribs.
Add remaining oil to skillet and sauté onions and garlic until tender.
Add tomato paste, beef stock and bay leaves to skillet; add ribs.
Bring sauce to a simmer and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until tender.
Add mushrooms and peppers and cook for 30 minutes; adjust seasoning.
Serve on noodles or risotto.
