Beef Panzerotti

Ingredients

6 lb 2.7 kg Sirloin, julienne (strips)
    salt and black pepper to taste
2 tsp 10 mL fresh oregano, chopped
60 oz 1.7 L pizza sauce
3 lb 1.4 kg mozzarella cheese, grated
3 3 red peppers, sliced
3 3 green peppers, sliced
4 lbs 1.8 kg pizza dough

Instructions

  1. Season beef with salt, black pepper, chopped oregano and sauté in a small amount of hot oil until brown and cooked through. Divide dough into 4X 1 lb portions. Roll each into rectangles 8 X 12 inches (20 X 30 cm). Divide remaining ingredients into 4 equal portions and follow this procedure.
  2. Onto the rolled pizza dough, place mozzarella cheese, red and green sliced pepper, cooked seasoned sirloin strips and pizza sauce. Fold the dough over and brush the inside dough with a little cold water so the pizza dough sticks, forming a seal.
  3. Place onto bakers sheet and bake in preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes or until dough is golden brown. For entrees, cut each panzerotti into 6 portions. For appetizers, cut into finger size pieces.
